Cheng Kung Junior High school has regularly visited our sister school(しまいこ)
日本石川縣中能登町立中能登中學校(石川県なかのとまちちゅうがっこう) biennially, and vice versa, but this activity has ceased since 2020 because of Covid-19 ourbreak worldwide. This virus has impacted our life so much, not only the students had to learn on Net, but aslo stopped our activities temporarily no matter demestic or overseas trips. We could not do anything, but wait.
Shall we wait for a long time? Oh, No! Covid-19 can not pause this significant cultural interflow. We still keep it going. How to go on? The Academic Affairs Office used modern technology and arranged formally a cultural interaction meeting on Net with our sister school on July fourth, 2022. Yes, we completed this meeting perfectly. There is a will, there is a way.
There were about 25 students respectively on both sides. This activity was divided into three parts. “First, introduce students themselves each other. Second, share their favorite thing and life experience. Third, introduce their own living city.” The students chatted through the Net either in English or easy Japanese. In the beginning, they were kind of shy and spoke a little. Later, they became better and got smoothly. The most important, both of us had English teachers for assistance.
This is really a fantastic meeting. Maybe, they used easy sentences or charade for communication, or in the support of standby teachers. In a word, this meeting closed happily. The students were excited but the atmosphere was warm. Though time was insufficient, we are proud to say this online meeting was a successful ice break. For the next interflow, no matter a real trip or online, we optimistically look forward it. So, the covid-19 virus, go away!
After the cultural interflow meeting on Net, the feedback by our sister school.
